My son is 27, just us guys this weekend, after dinner I told him to pick a movie.

He decided on 2001 space Odyssey

Ok.....

At the end he said 'i don't know what the hell I just watched '

As I told him several times during the film, it is because the producers, directors and actors were probably all high on LSD and it made some kind of sense to them. It was the late 60's afterall
