If you want to get a pretty realistic sense of what Anavex is worth, look at the recent buyout of a similar company, Cerevel, by AbbVie.
Crazy that ABBV paid $8.7Billion for a company that was not even as far along Anavex is right now… and ABBV just had to write off over $3 billion because the phase II schizophrenia drug trial of Cerevel’s eventually failed miserably!
“AbbVie is paying $45 per share in cash for Cerevel, which is developing drugs for Alzheimers, Parkinsons, psychosis, epilepsy, and panic disorder. Its experimental drug emraclidine is in midstage trials as a treatment for schizophrenia that will yield data the company hopes can be used to seek regulatory approval.
“Cerevel has a diversified pipeline comprising five clinical-stage investigational therapies and several preclinical compounds. As of October 19, 2023, the company has a market cap of $3.58 billion and a current stock price of $22.71.”
AVXL buyout for no less than $10 billion based on this… that is if it was today before any approvals… multiples of that if they wait until after there’s an approval!!
