Wasn't so long ago where $250M for 10 years was the norm. Now with Soto it's 3 times that much. The only way to stop the insanity is with a salary cap like all the other professional sports have.

Until then guys like Cohen can spend as much as he wants realizing that any money the Mets LLC lose he can use to offset his earnings for his hedge fund.
