For the mets Plan B would of stunk, because mets weren't gonna sign burnes or fried in my opinion because the GM doesnt believe in giving long-term contracts to pitchers. Now Hopefully the mets bring back Pete still. And fix the bullpen, but Soto was a great start. But they need to do alot more.
The Yanks if they would of signed soto there wouldn't of been much else behind this. But they have many holes to fill like the mets, difference is I don't think the mets are done spending. They need to finish the job now. If the yanks gave out the soto deal 1b, and 3b would still be wholes, a possible upgrade of the rotation, improvement of the bulpen, were they gonna do all that. I don't think they would. Hence this might actually let them build a more complete team. Mets needed soto alot more to make this offseason successful in my opinion, granted they still have a lot more work to do to finish the job in my opinion.
