I now understand what you meant by buying shares with house money. 
I was outside earlier and found a penny on the sidewalk and essentially picked up 5 free shares. 
In Massachusetts we have a 5 cents deposit on bottles and cans, so every beer I drink I can redeem it for 25 shares. Win win as I love beer and AFFU shares. The more I drink, the more shares I accumulate. That's what I'm going to tell myself every 6-pack I drink. 
I'm going to start going through my neighbors recycle bin the night before trash collection day to look for bottles and cans to redeem, as his trash could be my treasure. After all, remember, this investment will be a treasure chest and is a hidden gem I've been told,right ?
So yes, it makes sense now what you meant by being able to buy shares with house money.
