The marketing bullshit is when they promise that new technologies will allow them to pass the cost savings on to the consumer. That never happens.

Of course that never happens. Why should they. Corps are only beholden to their shareholders, which is always their owners, BOD and insiders. NOT common shareholders on the market nor consumers.
The common lie that never dies and has been around since people traded potatoes is "but the people are asking for this".
