It's just the fact that it's not the worst thing. I attended a Catholic high school myself and it had nothing to do with my religion. I actually hung around with many other kids who were members of different churches, so I attended services at a lot of different places as a kid, it got me out of the house and some religions were cooler than others.

Like with the Lutheran and Baptist we always had a picnic or a barbecue after services.. I enjoyed myself back then and of course we all participated in youthful hijinks when the folks weren't watching. Catholics were different, everyone had to be"prim and proper" and there was no jerking around so our goofing off became a sport.

I never took it seriously and maybe some others do so I don't like to bash on organized religion.

I will say that I had my bible classes with a really good teacher that always pushed our boundaries and forced us to contemplate the actual true meanings of scripture. He didn't just thump it into our heads and I learned a lot in our discussions, about myself but also the others around me from him.

I shit on a lot of religious people for preying on vulnerable kids these days but that guy helped me out just by teaching and me paying attention in class.. We all knew who the father McFeelys of the world were and we were not stupid.
