Thanks to Investor2014 for this analysis of TA that is intellectual. So little of what gets posted here is intellectual. The big hedge funds and private equity that are always profitable must be so for some kind of reason. If it is not an expert understanding of TA then it must be something else.

There is perhaps a better quality of fundamental analysis. Then there is also the possibility of getting inside information through bribery or other nefarious means which is illegal. There is also the possibility of different sorts of market manipulation which is also illegal. There is also the possibility of some sort of collusion between market players which is also illegal. There is also the possibility that with unlimited amounts of money they can drive smaller players to ruin by short selling before then going long at the right time at prices that are unreasonably low. They can also destroy a company entirely with naked short selling whereby they never need to cover.

How is it that Citadel and others always make a killing?
