He was sold counterfeit masks. It is that simple. He did not know that were bad masks - and obviously if he did he would have had a great deal more trouble. But he didn't. He just lost a lot of money, which is unfortunate of course.

I love how you use the word "co-conspirator" - more incendiary words to grab attention. So sad.
