I know it's a tragedy. I was born in 1970 so I never had to deal with all that until I was able to get a drift from my old man. We were playing with a league ball from the time I was four and when he beaned me, he told me I was a cry baby when I complained . LOL I learned pretty quick how to throw and catch and not be a pussy in front of him.

I don't know if that was a good or bad thing but I definitely wound up being a decent ball player.

Again, it was before my time but he had serious problems with anyone of Asian dissent. The slang terms he used are not fit for repeating anywhere.

He also hated Jane Fonda too. I didn't understand all that because I thought she was kind of hot and he didn't even know where my little pee shooter was headed.

It was a mistake. My pop left a good paying job to go and fight then came home to a massive hole of nothing. He was treated like a leper instead of a hero and that bothered him constantly. I'm pretty sure other Nam vets had the same experience. He tried to brush it off but it hurt him deeply and in turn affected us. It's not a badge I ever want to carry for sure.
