I’ve said several times what brought me was the first full length analysis of this company that I’ve seen in the 15 years that I’ve known about it. I had questions about why they couldn’t commercialize after all that time. If you go back prior to my coming here two years ago, you’ll find some posts by me questioning the stability of the material even.

Steve Sheitz and I had corresponded a number of times (did you know that, Walter? ) over the years and I always kept an eye on the company. I saw how the stock went crazy the year prior and was intrigued, but not yet convinced. I even suggested it to a friend - pointing out they had 10 phds or so and seemed to be doing good things..

I thought the Kerrisdale report might finally answer the questions here and was taken aback when they reported what former employees said. But nobody really wanted to talk about it. I found that doubly fascinating. Otoh some knowledgeable sounding longs put forth a very good sounding case. So I became very intrigued and curious about finding out what the truth really was.

It didn’t take me long to find those bonuses which for me were a huge red flag. From then on, I had a relatively negative perspective, but I still wanted to believe the longs maybe were onto something. Who doesn’t want to find a diamond in the rough?

You could say it is no coincidence that I got here when thereport came out and you would be right. That report is what brought me here because it finally seemed to have some answers. You could also say it’s no coincidence that the short position had gotten high by the time that report came out and you probably would be right: That’s no surprise. But I knew nothing about the short position. All I knew was I saw the news report on a stock that I owned and thought “Eureka finally someone has decided to analyze this company, and Holy Moly what a shocker! .. it seems to confirm some suspicions I’ve had for some time.. “

That report got the ball rolling for me to dig further. Richard said to give it six months. I certainly should have followed his advice.
