Zinnwald Lithium wins Saxony government endorsement for lithium project after robust PFS

Zinnwald Lithium PLC (LSE:ZNWD, OTC:ZNWLF) chief executive Anton du Plessis talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s recently published pre-feasibility study (PFS) for its Zinnwald Lithium Project, located in Saxony, Germany. The project is designed to supply battery-grade lithium hydroxide to the European market and has now received public backing from the Saxony government. Du Plessis outlined that the PFS demonstrates a scalable, long-life mining operation, starting with 18,000 tonnes per annum of lithium hydroxide and potentially scaling to 35,000 tonnes in a second phase. He stated, “We published our PFS on Monday that showed an economic project of significant scale… a globally significant project in terms of scale.” The economics were highlighted as robust, with a post-tax NPV of €2.20 billion and an internal rate of return of approximately 20%. The location of the project — 35km south of Dresden — positions it strategically at the heart of Germany and the EU, aligning with Europe’s push for regional supply chains of critical raw materials. Du Plessis also emphasised the importance of the local endorsement, noting, “To have the public endorsement, as we had, is extremely important to us.” The next step for the company is to optimise the project in preparation for a Definitive Feasibility Study, expected in 2026. Quantum Base to list on AIM with £5M IPO plan

Quantum Base CEO Tom Taylor joined Stephen Gunnion in the Proactive studio with more about the company’s upcoming listing on the AIM market and its breakthrough anti-counterfeiting technology. Quantum Base, founded in 2013 as a spin-out from Lancaster University, has developed an atomic fingerprint that offers 100% secure authentication of goods, scannable with any smartphone. “It tells you 100% if something is real or it's fake,” Taylor said, describing the technology as a major leap in the fight against counterfeiting. Taylor explained that the technology has applications across sectors including brand protection, pharmaceuticals, tax stamps, banknotes, passports and even aerospace parts. The firm is already working with clients globally—from North America to the Middle East—and targeting both commercial brands and government organisations. The IPO is expected to raise £5 million, with £4.70 million already committed and trading set to begin on Friday under the ticker QUBE. The retail offer remains open. “We really want to grow… AIM really helps us grow,” Taylor said, noting the listing will support product development and expansion into new verticals. Key uses of the funds will include expanding Quantum Base’s commercial team and scaling its product reach into global markets. OKYO Pharma achieves key stability milestone for Urcosimod in clinical development

OKYO Pharma CEO Gary Jacob joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share a significant advancement in the company’s ongoing drug development efforts. The company has successfully demonstrated that urcosimod—formerly known as OK-101—remains stable for more than two and a half years in single-use ampoules, which are used for patient administration. This milestone is a crucial step forward in ensuring the long-term viability of the drug as it progresses through clinical trials. Urcosimod is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2b clinical trial, which is a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-masked study involving 48 patients. The trial is focused on assessing the drug’s effectiveness in treating neurotrophic keratopathy (NCP), a serious and progressive degenerative eye disease. Jacob emphasized that achieving success in clinical development extends beyond obtaining positive clinical trial data. A crucial aspect of regulatory approval includes meeting the rigorous Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) requirements set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). By demonstrating long-term stability, OKYO Pharma has strengthened its regulatory submission package, addressing an essential factor in the drug’s future approval and commercialization. The company recently completed Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) stability assay testing of single-use ampoules containing urcosimod in an ophthalmic solution. The results were highly promising—ampoules stored under refrigerated conditions maintained stability for over two and a half years, while initial three-month data from samples stored at room temperature showed potency levels at or above 100%. These findings reinforce confidence in urcosimod’s shelf life and its potential for real-world clinical use. Krakatoa’s antimony-gold find signals major upside

Krakatoa Resources Ltd chairman Colin Locke talked with Proactive about the company’s newly secured Zopkhito Project in Georgia, which he described as a major opportunity for investors. The project contains a JORC resource of 225,000 tonnes of high-grade antimony at 11% for 26,000 tonnes of metal, translating to a back-of-the-envelope valuation of approximately $1.30 billion based on current prices.
