For me it comes down to the FTD's..

The MM's and their Naked Short Seller scheme can be a solo activity or include accomplices.... The active MM involved with naked short sales could churn real sales and deliver to buyers shares that the naked scheme had purchased in a churning fashion given the time to cover can be extended.... IMO in a relatively similar daily volume FTD's can be rotated and perhaps at a convenient time the naked short shares eliminated with a borrow and a sale... this allows the crooks to steal easily because they never open up their books. The closing house is owned and operated by the brokers... the fox is in charge of the hen house.

I'm also in favor of doing away with short selling.
