Anavex is very secretive about its trials and those results, as you know. I think once it files with the European agency, EMA, or fda, things will pop as the filings show management is confident of approval. Approval of 2-73 will be similar to a rocket launch for the SP.
One recent revelation has been the significant brain volume reduction in AD patients when 2-73 is compared to those drugs (mabs) attacking amyloid/plaque/tau. 2-73 has a 5% or less brain volume loss vs. the others' 20-25% brain volume loss. This might be the reason why AD filings have been delayed as Anavex looks to incorporate that findings into its application.
So, plex, place yourself in Dr. Missling's shoes ... if you were 80-90% completed in your application and this information on brain volume came to your attention as mabs' brain volume disaster is revealed, wouldn't you include these details in your application, which might take some additional time to ensure all the brain volume data is accurate and solid.
One reason the pro-Anavex/TGD posters are not concerned about some undescribed delay as it is strengthening its argument for approval.
