My biggest concern continues to be the two imminent deals discussed in the Jan 4 shareholder letter. Thinking about this logically, I doubt Lebby would have offered those details unless he was reasonably confident of the deals closing and the timeline. To do otherwise would have been irresponsible, or worse.
Accepting the foregoing are true, the question we should all be asking is: what happened? It’s beginning to feel as though the rug was pulled out from under Lebby. Of course, in the absence of an inked deal, these things do happen. But given the criticality of getting those deals done - if for no other reason, the PR value alone - it’s very worrying that those deals seem likely to be dead. I say that because it would be absurd for a CEO to publicly state that two deals could close in less than 30 days and to then be closing in on 120 days with no news, and for the deals to still be on the table.
Something happened. It concerns me that we do not know what. Seems like a significant setback.
