Looking at a map of lithium deposits, it appears that about 75% of lithium mined in the world is from minerals, while lithium found in continental brine is only found along the coast of South America (Argentina) and in the Dead Sea of china (salt lake). All deposits in Africa are mined from mineral, none are mined from continental brine.
