I think there is a legitimate function for short selling. Something akin to weeding a garden. My problem is that the short seller profits most when the company goes bankrupt. Does opportunity make the crook? Some must have learned from Cramer, who copped to doing it about 20 years ago. Certainly appears Citadel KG and others have refined it to point of automation.

There is enough private money backing to prevent going under, but that money isn't interested in defending the day to day share price. Leaving us longs bobbing on the water's surface like so many styrofoam peanuts. Slowly watching the level go down. It's a fear inducing experience. MHRA knew this application was coming in. No one really saw it being this large. Fortunately, the Brits have hinged jaws like a snake. Barring indigestion, its just a matter of a few months at most.
