During the last hour 8.300.000 shares is not available for shorting anymore. They have been taken out of the equation (look further down).
The trend continues.
FINTEL showed 6.500.000 shares was COVERED within two weeks last monday.
Thursday/Friday 14-15 million shares was "taken out" of the FINTEL available shares pile.
Today 8.300.000 shares is "gone".
Extremely low trading volume, accumulated shorting volume for 10 days below 6 millions and price have averaged up during these conditions 10-12% during last 5 days.
When shares are taken out of the equation, they can be:
Held in reserve for shorting: Short sellers may hold the shares in reserve for future shorting opportunities.
Shorted immediately: Short sellers may short the shares immediately if they believe that the stock price is going to fall.
Covered immediately: Short sellers may cover the shares immediately if they believe that the stock price is going to rise.
We KNOW FINTEL have marked 6.500.000 shares COVERED last week.
We KNOW SP goes up on very low trading volume, so the many millions of shares has NOT been executed for shorting. YET. Or might never be, if covering is going on in dark pools through internalization to keep share price constant at a low level.
Since then 22-23 million shares are "somewhere in limbo" until we know for sure next time FINTEL updates their numbers.
