Yours highlighted the inequality which had developed in the UK economy, similar to that in the US. I thought it was a good one because it highlighted growth of inequality. The, as you said, colonization of the economy by the 1%. What were the objective measures mentioned in mine where it said most were better off? Inflation is better. That affects everyone. Unemployment is way down, affecting many as the previously unemployed have more money to spend. Umm except, that pandemic welfare has been cut so many would notice that. That's not in essence a part of the Biden economy though. Housing is tough. Rental is one objective measure by which it would be hard to see some 40% of Americans better off. Wage growth under Biden has improved. And theoretically you could have a country where most all become better off even if the super rich take more than they deserve.

"Lansley blames the way the gains from growth have been increasingly colonised by a small group of financial and business magnates – a process he says is facilitated by state policy.
P - “Many of Britain’s deep-seated problems – a broken economy, hollowed-out public services, static and falling living standards, the doubling of child poverty since the late 1970s, and the fall in social resilience – can be traced to the way the economy has been turned into a cash cow for the already rich,” he said.
P - Too much of today’s economy involves unproductive activity geared to personal reward, a far cry from the culture of entrepreneurialism promised by Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair, Lansley adds.
P - Several factors account for the further enrichment of the already wealthy, says Lansley, “none of them serving much social purpose”, with nine-tenths of all national assets and infrastructure are now privately owned making Britain one of the most heavily privately and narrowly owned economies among rich countries.

By almost any objective measure, Americans are doing much better economically than they were nearly three years ago,

This is spot on

"Mohamed Adow, the director of the thinktank Power Shift Africa, said: “The Saudi government is like a drug dealer trying to get Africa hooked on its harmful product.

“The rest of the world is weaning itself off dirty and polluting fossil fuels and Saudi Arabia is getting desperate for more customers and is turning its sights on Africa. It’s repulsive.

“Africa cannot catch up with the rest of the world by trudging along in the footsteps of the polluting nations. It would mean we miss out on the benefits of modern energy solutions that Africa can take advantage of due to its massive renewable energy potential. We have the latecomer advantage, which means we can leapfrog to a genuine energy transition.”

António Guterres, the UN secretary general, said in 2021: “We need to see adequate international support so African and other developing countries’ economies can leapfrog polluting development and transition to a clean, sustainable energy pathway.”

On Borat -- Borat Supplemental Reportings Retrieved from Floor of Stable Containing Editing Machine review – obsolete

But the third is called Debunking Borat, a series of bite-sized episodes in which rational experts actually speak directly to the awful Jim and Jerry (who have presumably now been told Borat is a fake – or maybe not) and try politely talking them out of their bizarre delusions, using sweet reason. And the climactic episode has Hillary Clinton herself addressing Jim and Jerry on a prerecorded video, calmly assuring them that she does not drink blood, but failing to challenge them or rebuke them, asking merely that people should come together. The final moment has Jim muttering to Jerry: “I still can’t stand her… ” They get the punchline.
P - It is pretty feeble,
