Let's take a break from you guys calling each other names about American domestic politics and talk about Israel!

The other day I was walking around the Upper East Side in Manhattan and saw obviously beefed up security in front of a well-known Jewish day school as well as 2 synagogues. I'm sure that some nerdy Jewish kids at a religious school (not Hasidim, they dress like anyone else) are hindering the efforts of Palestinians to establish statehood and need to be dealt with.

This is the problem with conflating Israel with Jews, just ask sortagreen. That is the reason that after Israel acts poorly that Jews in Paris and Buenos Aires and Brooklyn get attacked. I was shocked to see when you - FUAGF - in response to something positive I wrote about Israel ,the other day, asked me if I, too, thought Jews were the chosen people, if that was my rationale. That is insulting to anyone with a pulse.

And it's just as bad to conflate Hamas with the Palestinians, or so it seems. In the past year there have been large scale demonstrations against their own governments in Israel, S. Korea, Iran, Poland, France (of course), Georgia (the country), et al with protestors risking jail, beatings and death. Don't see any mention of Gazans demonstrating against Hamas, however, at all. (see Global Protest Tracker, Carnegie Endowment for Peace)

I can only think of 3 reasons that might be. One, Gazans are cowards. Two, it's the Stockholm Syndrome on a grand scale. Three, they support Hamas. While I"m sure they're not cowards, the other two are plausible.
