The threshold securities list, also known as Regulation SHO, is a list of stocks registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) whose transactions have failed to clear for five consecutive settlement days.

In addition, the unsettled transactions must consist of 10,000 or more shares or 0.5% of the security's outstanding shares.

Once on this list, these stocks receive a higher degree of scrutiny from authorities who look for irregularity in trading activity.

Electric vehicle (EV) maker Mullen Automotive is another stock on the Regulation SHO list.(February 2023)The stock peaked in March 2022 when it was the penny stock of the moment.

However, the stock's popularity back then wasn't due to massive short-selling activity but to the buzz around the EV (electric vehicle) segment. Mullen's announcement regarding the development of next-generation solid-state polymer batteries caused its share price to surge to $2.90.

Since then, a merciless bear market in growth and tech stocks has weighed on Mullen shares, which have plummeted more than 80%.

Currently, the stock's short interest stands at 10% of its float. While that's relevant, it's not considered super high.

Mullen hasn't been on the Reg SHO Threshold List since February 3, 2023.
