Choosing to reply to a troll who has posted something obviously wrong i don't see as falling into their hands. As long as you choose to correct them and understand the situation then to correct them seems to me is a good thing. If it goes on too long then i agree - stop. It's a bit like if in a pub someone says something insane you decide to let it slide, or you say something.
