So the IRB is in fact a KP internal review board. They answer to the people who sign their paychecks. The DSMC is independent and will review safety, efficacy, and futility.

Given Amarin’s response to Raf, my conclusion is that KP lost interest or determined the study results would not serve their business objectives.
