It absolutely is rational to expect an update, public companies do this as a matter of routine business, even when they don't have material updates. They have a fiduciary duty to their shareholders to let them know the status of the business, even when there aren't material updates. It is irresponsible and neglect to go this long without updating shareholders on corporate strategy or timeline.
