Tesla China lied by omission in not disclosing that the park button is Teslas e-brake function.

Lying by omission, also known as a continuing misrepresentation or quote mining, occurs when an important fact is left out in order to foster a misconception. Lying by omission includes the failure to correct pre-existing misconceptions

I believe it did so to help drive the narrative that the driver held the accelerator down. To reveal that Mr Zhan attempted to use the ebrake and that the ebrake (which tells the electric motors to stop all motion) didnt respond would indirectly admit that the brakes and motors failed to receive their command signals, confirming Mr Zhans account of events. That then indirectly confirms this Tesla indeed suffered sudden unintended acceleration. Which means all Teslas can experience SUA.
Furthermore to admit, even indirectly, that this Tesla suffered SUA with data showing near max accelerator pressure would completely derail Teslas claims drivers are hitting the accelerator. That Teslas data is flawed for some reason. That Teslas really are no different than the Electric Vehicles mentioned in the study linked below. This of course would be a PR nightmare as the public finally became aware of the dangers of Teslas and EVs as a whole. Lastly it would open up Tesla to hundreds of significant lawsuits.
So now you can see some of the reasoning to why Tesla China omitted this key detail of the park button functioning as Teslas e-brake.

Is there a strategy to distract people away from looking at the basic data, like using humor?
Is the data being reducing to the absurd?
Is there an exercise to create more forum verbiage to drown out evidence?
