Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa, and briefly attended at the University of Pretoria before moving to Canada at age 18, acquiring citizenship through his Canadian-born mother. Two years later, he matriculated at Queen's University and transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where he received bachelor's degrees in economics and physics. He moved to California in 1995 to attend Stanford University. After two days, he dropped out and, with his brother Kimbal, co-founded the online city guide software company Zip2. In 1999, Zip2 was acquired by Compaq for $307 million and Musk co-founded X.com, a direct bank. X.com merged with Confinity in 2000 to form PayPal, which eBay acquired for $1.5 billion in 2002.
I suspect physics might have something to do with rocketry and orbital mechanics. Butt Elon is nott the tech guru, he is the munny-raising and promotion carnival barker.that getts the Buck Rogers bucks to make the damn things.
Ventures are nott always pitched by the tech guys, in fact it is usually binniz guy who pitches while the tech guys are just there for backup on technical questions and for show. Por ejemplo, in Protein Design Labs aka PDL (PDLI), Cary Queen was the tech god (and a wicked smart fellow) butt Lawrence Korn was the CEO and pitchman, like Elon. Steve Jobs was no technical wizard, that was Wozniak. Jobs was just the carnival barker and munny manager. Elon is nott the guy on the trapeze, he is the dude selling tickets to gett into DaTent.
BTW, Cary lives in Incline Village now. He is a funny story for another weekend. Cary and I go back a very long way - to the beginning really - for both of us.
