Hey there SeattleITguy,

Its kinda funny that it is all connected.

As far as I can see, guys like us won the life lottery by living in the greatest nation to ever exist in the history of the world, while also living in what will probably the best time to be alive.

I look back on the late 80s and early 90s and it was like one big party. Back then when we were late teens to mid 20s, we had social opportunities that gen Z doesn't have today.

We could cruise the strip like our parents did, go to beaches, parks, skating rinks and we had teen nightclubs (16 to 20 only) and great nightclubs once we turned 21 as well.

Economic opportunities were everywhere.

All that is gone now for gen Z.

Somewhere along the road, thugs and criminals ran everyone off.

People stopped going to parks and without the entrance fees from the public, they could no longer maintain nature and/or bike trails.

People stopped going to the public beaches, so there was no money for lifeguards and other staffers.

It all went to crap.

We had so many opportunities for life and love in the real world that looks like are gone forever.

Its all digital now.

That brings us to the lack of social and economic opportunities for young people today.

When we talk about gun violence and mental illness, I see it a little differently as you would suspect.

The MSM has tallied over 200 mass shootings for past year (from memory) but that term is defined by at least 4 people killed in a single event and location.

That would include gang shootings, domestic violence, etc.

A lone shooter rampage where soft targets like schools and malls are hit are fairly rare.

One is to many for sure, but the common denominator for these shooters is a young male adult who everyone agrees would have to mentally ill.

I consider them to be "mentally defeated."

They have nobody to love or to love them back. They cant find a job that pays a living wage.

The American dream of working hard and raising a family is gone for alot of these people.

Without the hope for a better life, why not?

The other thing for me, is that lone shooters dont just spawn into our world. These are people who have acted out in the past with smaller crimes like vandalism, shoplifting, assault, etc.

We live in an age where law enforcement and prosecutors wont charge these people for smaller crimes that would show up on a background check and prevent them from buying firearms.

When it comes to general discord and politically motivated violence, the liberals own it almost exclusively with a few exceptions.

Try putting a Trump 2024 bumper sticker on your car, or a NRA or FOP sticker in your window.

Even in red state, you will be calling an auto shop to replace the windshield or tires.

We could get back to providing a future for generations to come if we just enforced laws and Bill of Rights.

As Dennis Miller once said, " the freedom of speech" is enshrined as a God given right in the first amendment of the Constitution, but the "right to bear arms" is enshrined in the second, so be careful.

Sorry to go long, but rants go both ways when people can agree that conversations need to be had.

On a lighter note, after logging some time on TOTK, I think I am to dumb to play it. The shrines are insane. Ugh.

Question though, speaking of GNR and the good ole days, if you had to pick five albums to have to listen to stranded on a island, what would you pick?

I have decided on three after thinking about it.

Bon Jovi, Slippery When Wet.

Prince, Purple Rain.

Fleetwood Mac, Rumors.

Not sure on the other two choices.

Just curious. I might start looking for deserted islands soon. LOL.

Sorry to ramble.

Be well.
