Totally agree Jaxon,
lol
I love buying when nobody else is!!
Hey there Jaxon,
Don’t ever apologize for going long with your DD bud.
I was always told you’re a great digger! lol
I’ll take a look at each of your plays.
SPOM, my chart says might be able to get some 0025-003 but not many imo
I had a hard time accumulating under 002 without moving the price.
Thank you always!
Appreciate you taking the time bud.
Thanks Jaxon,
Ive been following IGPK because I know a few guys who are in it.
At a glance, SPOM looks really good. Will take a deeper dive on it soon.
I am still holding QMCI after all this time for a number of reasons.
Most recent reason is because of our SC-13 filer Michael H. Giles.
3 otc plays im in.
Still don’t want to post them on ATM board.(-:
IGPK- large should do at least 05-peteypickem play
SPOM-low float should be 03 imo 0012 avg
ILST- small position also peteypickem lol
Hey there peacebringer45, good to see you again.
I have known a lot of people over the years, who knocked out huge gains with biotechs like GRTX.
I have gotten crushed every time though, so I stay away from them.
Prolly for the best since I wouldn't want to jinx ya.
Still holding GWTR and might add if we get any catalysts.
At this point, I just see it as a vehicle for a JV or RM.
The Erik/GWTR story is one of the main reasons I hold.
A disappointed shareholder and message board poster (Erik,) sues the previous CEO for control of the company after years of dilution and neglect.
He has got it cleaned up and ready for a deal and has avoided toxic debt and dilution over the years.
He doesnt seem to be using it for self-enrichment, so I continue to have faith that he will make something happen with it.
If something else hits my radar, I will let you know.
Thanks for sharing any picks you may have.
GLTU, IMO and FWIW.
If saw the boards you moderate on. If you have tips or picks message me. GLTA
Hey Reaper,
A stock symbol that I think can do good is GRTX. It has a lot of cash but even more debt. They shrunk the size of the company to hold on to resource. They are looking into transforming radiation therapy in the treatment of cancer. I know many Cancer companies go under. It is cheap and insiders own a bit too. Any way wanted to give you a heads up. As far as GWTR Erik operates the company from the post office. He had a few good inventions; however, it is my understanding that although efficient not the most efficient. And companies go with the cheapest. I thought that was great how he had graduated student do work in exchange with paying school but I don’t know if that happens any more. As far as I know he was a writer of articles and this is spare time. I don’t think there is active work for employees on a daily basis. I heard he was going to sell off some of the company for something around 9 million years ago. But the deal fell through. The company does not have much now as far as I know the patient are dated. But It is a steal with a 500k market cap. IMHO TTBOMK
Thanks Reap, came back to the stocks cuz they woke up finally!
..So interesting news items like ai go hand in hand for some reason.
I guess Bitcoin is just caught up in the general excitement (until it's not ;)
I found ai pretty handy at first and left it but intend to get back to using it with an updated version
Like you, not as worried as Musk is but he is much younger lol.
I don't like to waste an opportunity to trash talk Humanity's Disfunctions
Cheers Bud!
Good to hear from ya 12yp,
Thanks for the vids.
Scary stuff, but as Gen-Xer, I can just shrug my shoulders and say, "welp...I had a good run."
Skynet is the obvious reference to the current A.I debate, but I prefer the movie Eagle Eye from several years ago.
Very cool Reap. I can relate. Soon, we can make a very similar video with up to the minute current events and post it in real time/updated every minute (I type slow ;).
Gotta love the classics.
Sounds like we are in about the place with ToTK. I am to the point where I wait for a blood moon and then build the "air motorcycle" with the two fans and a steering stick and fly around and drop in on the monsters after they respawn.
Awesome to hear that you get to spend that kind of quality of time with the wife and son.
It reminds me of a line from a movie, one of the trippy ones about the paranormal type shows.
Its the job of a parent to provide their children with the memories they will need and cherish as adults, after we are gone.
Anyhoo, Lacrossse is cool and all, but its not like I could go in the yard and play a match with the kid.
Sooooo gald he moved to Tennis.
Tennis I can do. Kinda. LOL.
Yeppers. GenX rules.
Even with music and movies, my nephew has commented several times about how cool it must have been to have lived in that time as a young adult.
Just a whole different vibe. Just Happy.
His MP3 player is loaded with everything from Van Halen, Bon Jovi and Poison to Billy Joel, Culture Club and Wham.
I just feel fortunate to be somewhat insulated from the clown show living in a fairly remote area.
But hey, speaking of Gen X and cover songs, if you havent heard this one yet, I gotta hunch you will
like it.
To be clear - life is like the Ugly Kid Joe version of that song… before Chapin traveled through time to make the “original” :).
I now have all five sages, but still wandering Hyrule at the moment and loving every minute. I don’t want it to end, and I’m pretty convinced that Nintendo programmed this game to drag as long as possible.
Long story, but my wife and I inadvertently became coaches of my son’s coach-pitch team. It’s actually a lot of fun. We still play baseball EVERY day of the week (outside of the organized team) - which is exhausting at times - but it’s fun to see him have a passion for something.
Lacrosse is ahead of its time. IMO, we’re only one new generation from it breaking through to “mainstream” - at least to the level rugby is achieving in the U.S., currently.
Hope you’re making the best of these “historic times” we’re living through. As a fellow Gen X’er, all I can say is that I didn’t sign up for things getting so “real.” I’m far too apathetic to grasp the clown show that’s happening around us. Oh well. At least ToTK is helping to keep things in perspective.
Take care. I always get a positive boost from our exchanges!
Doing great SeattleITguy. Glad to hear you are doing well.
How awesome has ToTK been? It was worth the wait for sure.
Gotta admit I have been cheating just a little. There is a glich if you have a hard copy.
I broke down and bought the switch pro controller after a few weeks of playing and it made a huge difference.
Still havent finished either. Still chasing down the side quests and it has been a blast.
Dude, you are so lucky your kid picked baseball.
My nephew was all in on La Crosse early on and then pivoted to tennis. LOL.
Glad to hear your life is kinda sounding like "Cats in the Cradle."
Always good to hear from you my friend, stop by anytime.
GLTU.
Reaper,
I am still having a blast with ToTK. I’ve been wandering Hyrule and the Depths since I last posted. Had beaten three of the regional phenomena a couple of months ago. Finally decided to go beat the Queen Gibdo in the fourth region - about 10 minutes ago.
Not too much more to report. I have a 1st grader who (on his own) has found a love of baseball. It’s exhausting for me to play wiffle ball every night, but the joy that comes out of it far outweighs the toll on my aging body :).
Currently in Cali for work, so get a little reprieve from baseball for a couple of days. I hope all is well for you!
The kid is a ninja. LOL.
We cant hardly pay split screen PVP games anymore because he just destroys me.
I can have a full auto rifle in Call of Duty and he will just jump from cover and kill me with the throwing knife. Embarrassing really.
Having a blast playing TOTK though.
Hope all is well.
He must be really good at battles - so credit is definitely deserved. I suppose I’d take the same approach if I was good in battle. But I’m not… so, I just try to enjoy the game anyway.
My nephew is hillarious with TOTK.
He just wants to beat the game rather than just play it.
He refuses to do any cooking, so he just faces the mini bosses by trying to replenish his health with raw ingedients with little benefit, rather than spend 30 seconds at a cooking pot.
Gotta give him credit though, he is so good with game mechanics, control and counter attacks that it works for him.
Good fun. Thanks again.
Hi Reaper,
I came into with the hope that it would at least be as good as BotW, but I did share the opinion that it couldn’t be better. Kind of like how Majora’s Mask was okay, but couldn’t outdo Ocarina of Time.
I am so glad to hear your nephew’s advice, because I’ve been dinking around with the main story and just exploring. Occasionally coming back to the main story, running into a hurdle (eg. needing warmer clothes), and then exploring some more (to find those warmer clothes). But I do seem to find lots of bright, shiny objects (both figuratively and actually) and going off on fun tangents.
It’s a lot of fun, for sure! The long weekend was good and was spent on the quieter side of the WA mountains. Back to the grind tomorrow!
Agreed SeattleITguy,
I am enjoying TOTK even more than BOTW. I had just assumed that the sequal would suck because they always do, but they nailed it.
On the advice of my nephew who is ahead of me, I put the main story on hold to explore the map and learn some of the new things added to the game.
I am having a blast playing it and wanted to say thanks for suggesting it.
Had a great holiday weekend and hope you did as well.
It’s still early, but I think TotK is even more fun that BotW. TBD, I suppose, but fun nonetheless. I’ve gone to the Depths and am making progress in Rito Village. Hope you have a great long weekend!
Be sure to give me an update on what ya think once you've got some time logged on it.
Have fun and be well.
Hi Reaper,
Solving fiscal issues - ensuring certain groups of people don’t feel “left behind” - to me, has always been that utopia we hope to reach. Unfortunately, I’m pessimistic because greed and power among elites (in both left and right parts of the spectrum) won’t let that happen. I think Carlin said it best (and I am completely paraphrasing), “there is a club (of elites) in the world, and we’re not part of the club!”
I do think a little more humility amongst individuals could go a long way. While we can certainly do our best to ensure a comfortable life for our loved ones, I think it’d behoove us to realize that in the grand scheme of things, we aren’t as important as we think we are. When you have a moment, Google “pale blue dot quote” from Carl Sagan. I think it’s simple, powerful, and puts things into perspective. IMO.
Quick ToTK update. I didn’t manage to reach the second shrine last night and obtain the ascend power (or whatever it’s called. I got it then went to sleep). Kid is about to go to sleep now, so I’ll probably go try to log another hour of play this evening.
Be well and take care.
Hey there SeattleITguy,
No worries about trying to be respectful or polite to me here. I know we disagree on some things, but we agree on enough stuff to keep it interesting without the "echo chamber " effect.
For me, I think resolving the fiscal issues, would go a long way to fixing some social issues.
I see poverty, despair and hopelessness more than I have at any other time in my life.
Gen Z and some millenials seem to be happy, or almost need to vote for big government politicians who will advance entitlements, spending and inflation becuase it doesnt affect people who havent had time to accumulate any wealth.
They recieve wage increases to compensate for the inflation and stay relatively even, while the boomers watch thier purchasing power evaporate.
I am not a fan of boomers either, but the inflation hits Gen X pretty hard as well, even though many of us are still working. Our wages keep up with inflation, but our savings are being pilfered.
If we could just fix the monetary policy and give everyone a legit shot at the American dream, I think crime would drop acrosss the board.
We will always have a handful of crappy people in every generation, ruining things for the rest of us. No way around that.
But right now, the number of crappy people seems to be growing and things are getting worse.
I heard an economist somewhere talking about it and said the once millenials as a whole reached the age of having and maintaining families and households, they will flip and untie with gen X to form a voting block large enough to counter Gen Z and roll back some of this insane monetary policy.
Bad news was that he estimated it would take 5 to 10 years.
On a lighter note, I have logged 25-30 hours on TOTK and have to say that I think you will approve. I like it better than BOTW if that is possible.
And dont worry about extending your playing experince. It is already built into the game.
I will leave it at that, but keep me posted on your progress.
Be well and thanks for posting.
You said it. Our lives, up until the last few years, enjoyed more “peaceful times.”
I don’t blame the media. I blame the Baby Boom generation as a whole. They’re the ones who have been divisive their whole lives, and no matter how hard we try, we can’t seem to get rid of them in political power.
They created the “participation trophy,” and have the call their kids, the millenials, the most entitled generation? They’re the one complaining about Gen X being lazy and apathetic. Again, the boomers should look in the mirror. The boomers created the current media. Whether it’s “MSM” or “Right-wing opinion” shows, they’re all completely full of s#!+. I take’em all with a grain of salt, but they are ALL in it to make money off of ratings. Every last one of them, right or left.
As for your description of the mentally ill’s profile - I think you hit the nail on the head. But again, how do we keep them from shooting people? Whether it’s gang shooting, domestic violence, or most importantly shooting our CHILDREN? I’m tired of hearing, “we need to ban guns,” but I am almost more tired of hearing, “it’s a mental health issue.” The former is not attainable - nor do I think it should be. The latter is fully attainable - yet that Boomer mentality of divisiveness prevents us for actually doing something about it. It is EXTREMELY POSSIBLE to mitigate mass shootings without taking away guns. It’s EXTREMELY IMPOSSIBLE to ban all guns. Life happens in the grey area and we all ought to stop feeding the Boomer mentality of divisiveness.
Biden is old and boring. Trump is rich and has absolutely NOTHING in common with the Republican base. He’s just really good at riling them up (and don’t get me wrong, they have many justifiable civil grievances) so he can attain power. Like everyone else he’s encountered, he’ll chew them up and spit them out as soon as they are no longer useful to his goal.
This country needs a center-right party and the republicans are NO LONGER that. If it’s authoritarianism one wants, then Trump’s the guy.
I’m still working on the second shrine in ToTK. My child doesn’t sleep, so I don’t get as much time as I’d like to play. Probably better for me - it’ll “extend” my experience of playing over time.
Thanks again for the forum. I hope I’m keeping this respectful. If not, I can let it go and make reaper board mellow again (MRBMA).
Hey there SeattleITguy,
Its kinda funny that it is all connected.
As far as I can see, guys like us won the life lottery by living in the greatest nation to ever exist in the history of the world, while also living in what will probably the best time to be alive.
I look back on the late 80s and early 90s and it was like one big party. Back then when we were late teens to mid 20s, we had social opportunities that gen Z doesn't have today.
We could cruise the strip like our parents did, go to beaches, parks, skating rinks and we had teen nightclubs (16 to 20 only) and great nightclubs once we turned 21 as well.
Economic opportunities were everywhere.
All that is gone now for gen Z.
Somewhere along the road, thugs and criminals ran everyone off.
People stopped going to parks and without the entrance fees from the public, they could no longer maintain nature and/or bike trails.
People stopped going to the public beaches, so there was no money for lifeguards and other staffers.
It all went to crap.
We had so many opportunities for life and love in the real world that looks like are gone forever.
Its all digital now.
That brings us to the lack of social and economic opportunities for young people today.
When we talk about gun violence and mental illness, I see it a little differently as you would suspect.
The MSM has tallied over 200 mass shootings for past year (from memory) but that term is defined by at least 4 people killed in a single event and location.
That would include gang shootings, domestic violence, etc.
A lone shooter rampage where soft targets like schools and malls are hit are fairly rare.
One is to many for sure, but the common denominator for these shooters is a young male adult who everyone agrees would have to mentally ill.
I consider them to be "mentally defeated."
They have nobody to love or to love them back. They cant find a job that pays a living wage.
The American dream of working hard and raising a family is gone for alot of these people.
Without the hope for a better life, why not?
The other thing for me, is that lone shooters dont just spawn into our world. These are people who have acted out in the past with smaller crimes like vandalism, shoplifting, assault, etc.
We live in an age where law enforcement and prosecutors wont charge these people for smaller crimes that would show up on a background check and prevent them from buying firearms.
When it comes to general discord and politically motivated violence, the liberals own it almost exclusively with a few exceptions.
Try putting a Trump 2024 bumper sticker on your car, or a NRA or FOP sticker in your window.
Even in red state, you will be calling an auto shop to replace the windshield or tires.
We could get back to providing a future for generations to come if we just enforced laws and Bill of Rights.
As Dennis Miller once said, " the freedom of speech" is enshrined as a God given right in the first amendment of the Constitution, but the "right to bear arms" is enshrined in the second, so be careful.
Sorry to go long, but rants go both ways when people can agree that conversations need to be had.
On a lighter note, after logging some time on TOTK, I think I am to dumb to play it. The shrines are insane. Ugh.
Question though, speaking of GNR and the good ole days, if you had to pick five albums to have to listen to stranded on a island, what would you pick?
I have decided on three after thinking about it.
Bon Jovi, Slippery When Wet.
Prince, Purple Rain.
Fleetwood Mac, Rumors.
Not sure on the other two choices.
Just curious. I might start looking for deserted islands soon. LOL.
Sorry to ramble.
Be well.
Hey Reaper,
I am of the “it’s democracy vs. autocracy”perspective. Policy is irrelevant when one side is playing a zero-sum game. They distract with “policy,” thrive on fomenting anger, and creating culture wars as a means to an end. They don’t care about us at all. In the fact, these days, the more I hear a politician say that he/she is fighting for me, I am convinced that they feel the 180-degree opposite.
I could give a golly gosh darn about the culture wars that have typically fueled the “rivalry” between Democrats and republicans during our lifetime. The Republican Party is no longer a center-right party. It’s an illiberal danger to the country (and the world). The Democrats are completely living in delusion, but at least have a belief in free and fair elections. Though, their party is nearing the point of collapse (much like the republicans have in the last 6 - 8 years). Dude, we’re headed for an authoritarian state where all the so-called “freedom” we Americans pride ourselves on, will be gone. Completely gone. Those who like the authoritarians because they’re “like us”?? Yeah, the authoritarians are playing those people - and doing it with real ease.
And I agree that children need to be kept safe. My kindergartner’s school went into lockdown yesterday. Fortunately no one was hurt and the PD was able to apprehend the suspect. But now we’re dealing with a scared kid wondering why an adult would want to shoot them. For those of us “responsible gun owners,” there is a simple way to stop having people talk about banning guns. What is that solution? Stop mass shootings. How? Well, instead of saying “it’s a mental health issue” and then walking away with no solution. Maybe invest in a solution. I have to believe that an overwhelmingly number of Americans believe that if a severely mentally ill person is prohibited from owning guns, then mass shootings would stop… and then? People stop talking about banning guns, because children aren’t being shot and killed weekly. Sorry, this rant hits close to home, because it’s been an emotional couple of days in my (otherwise) safe community.
On a much lighter note - there was a lot of cheesy music in the 80s, but wow - in the past year or so - I’ve realized that a lot of 80s music was ahead of its time. Speaking of music made in the 80s (though not “80s music,” per say), I have been listening to a lot of GNR in the past couple of weeks. I always knew that Axl Rose had pipes, but man, here we are 40 years later and I still haven’t heard another vocalist with his range. Chris Cornell came close, but didn’t quite have that same range.
Be well man. Thanks again for the forum!
BTW SeattleITguy, speaking of rants.
Grunge killed Glam Rock in the 90's.
All the hotties went from wearing high heels, daisy dukes and halter tops, to wearing flannel shirts, baggy pants and combat boots.
I will always hold you guys in the Pacific northwest responsible for ruining a good thing.
LOL.
Have a good weekend anyways.
Hey there SeattleITguy,
I am right there with you on TOTK. I am a few hours in, but I spent a lot of that time hunting and gathering resources and cooking. Not very far into the missions yet.
So far, I am pretty stoked.
They seemed so far, to maintain the feel, mechanics and playability of BOTW, while adding some really cool aspects. Looking forward to logging more time on it.
As far as your rant goes. I agree completely. We seem to be reaching the same conclusions while looking at it from different perspectives.
I think the Biden/Harris administration has been as destructive to the American way of Life, as the Bush/Cheney administration after 2001.
Economically, America was set on path decades ago and we are only recently noticing.
Its scary for sure.
As far as social issues, I am Gen X like you and see Gen Z as a joke.
Back in the day with music groups like Wham, Boy George, The Cure, Poison, Motley Crew, I grew my hair out and teased it, while blow drying and covering it in aqua net.
I wore ripped up dreams with spandex or fishnets underneath, while wearing the T shirts with the vertical cuts in them.
I was all about it and had fun with it.
Nowadays, when I go to out to eat or go shopping and see a guy wearing black fingernail polish and skinny pants thinking he is edgy, I have to laugh a little.
I am not concerned with social issues for the most part unless they involve children.
We have to protect the innocence of young people from predators. Everyone can agree on that.
But it is definitely the economic issues that will probably sink us as a society.
Thanks for the rant. Feel free anytime.
Your son will probably love the Lego movies.
But I recently saw a movie called Tenant.
Its an older movie that I picked up on DVD a few days ago and it was one of those "put your mind in a blender" movies.
Its kinda like .007 merging with quantum mechanics.
Good fun.
Anywho, have fun with TOTK and feel free to rant anytime.
Hi Reaper,
Just spent about two hours playing ToTK. While the environment is different, in many ways the overall game play is a continuation of BoTW. I’m still in the process of obtaining the basic tools of the game, and learning 1-oh-1’s of the how-to’s, but overall I’m enjoying it. Will report more opinions in the coming weeks as I play more.
With regards to my innocuous statement with regards to self-reflection… having grown up in “red” america, living in “blue”america, and now residing in “purple america (and yes, all three are in WA), I feel that I have a unique perspective. I don’t think this makes me better than anyone, but I do feel that it gives me a credible, well-rounded opinion of the state of our country (and the world, for that matter).
We are in a spot, both nationally and at the world scale, where authoritarianism is taking a stronger hold and trying to push out democracies. America is no exception to this, and I believe is not only susceptible to democracy dying, but might be the most “at-risk” of any of the wealthy democracies in the world.
There is a saying that tells us we need to “learn from history.” Most of the time we brush this sentiment off as a “I get it, but we’ve already learned.” I don’t believe this at all now. We are on the precipice of, not only repeating history (circa 1917 through 1945), but it is even more dangerous now because of the technologies we have.
I am not a conspiracy theorist. I am not a Chicken Little type of person. That said, for the past few years I have self-reflected to ensure that I am not over-reacting or trying to appease my own ego.
I feel confident that I am of sound mind and body. What we’re seeing today is scary. We need to STOP the tribalism. We NEED to be humble and accept when we’re wrong sometimes. We need to realize that the authoritarians are trying to distract us with why the “other side’s” political policies are bad for us. The authoritarians are playing a zero-sum game for power. The are playing with the minds of a LOT of good people who lack means to live comfortably. They foment anger and fear to obtain votes from these GOOD people. For what reason?? Power..
Authoritarianism is antithetical to being American. By definition it means that we no longer vote for our leaders. We entrust one person (and their hand-picked cronies) to “do what’s right for the people.”
Listen, there’s legitimate work that needs to be done in this country. There are people who have been left behind and can’t achieve the American dream. Fomenting hate and authoritarianism is not the answer. Nor are a “defund the police” or “progressive wokism” the answer.
I’ve gone on a rant and appreciate you providing your forum for these things sometimes.
You’re a practical person. I know we don’t see eye to eye on every political issue, but without having ever met you, I can tell that the two of us are the types of people who our friends, family, and colleagues respect - even if they disagree with us.
To end this on a more positive note - I’m going to introduce my son to the Lego movie soon. Because…. Well… it’s awesome. Be well, and thanks again for letting me rant :).
Everything is awesome SeattleITguy.
(had to throw out the Lego movie song)
Gosh, back in the day, my nephew loved the Lego franchise.
We saw the Lego movie and the Batman Lego movie in the theater and played all the games.
Lego Star Wars, Lego Batman, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Worlds and Lego Undercover.
Good times to be sure.
Looking forward to Zelda as well. The game drought has been bad enough for me that I am back to Minecraft. (although I did play through Astroneer twice in a row.)
Hope everything is awesome for you guys as well, but not sure what you mean about self reflection.
If you have time to elaborate, I would be curious to hear if you get time.
Anyways, be well and stay safe. Always good to hear from ya.
