Tesla Recalls 1.1 Million Cars in China Over Braking Defect

Automotive News says the defect stems from the intensity of Tesla's regenerative braking system which, in the affected cars, can't be adjusted by the user. The cars also don't alert drivers when they've stepped on the accelerator pedal for an elongated time, which can increase the probability of pedal misapplication, according to the State Administration for Market Regulation, China's regulatory body

I dont buy at all this is the problem. Teslas have a long history of SUA with people claiming they pressed the brake not the accelerator. The stem of the issue is a glitch in the vehicle causing the car to think the accerator is pressed when the driver actually has their foot on the brake. When this happens the data recorder only records the accerator not the brake position. This is something seen in other EVs. Also in a recent investigation of a Tesla that went out of control in China last year showed that while the accelerator was pressed, the driver used the "park" button several times during the out of control incident. In reality the "park" button is Teslas emergency brake. If you hold it down it supposed to apply the ebrake. If you push it several times briefly its supposed to gradually slow you down. Applying ebrake at high speeds will cause the car to spin out in an unpredictable manner.
Tesla & Chinese investigators admits the park button was used but do not reveal that its the emergency brake which would clue people in that this driver was trying everything they could think of to stop their out of control Tesla. Meanwhile data shows only accelerator pressure, never brake. Dont you think the driver would have tried the brake pedal before the ebrake?

Drivers statement:

In an interview with local news outlet Dahe Daily, the 55-year-old driver, Zhan, who said he was a former truck driver, said he tried pressing the brake pedal and the emergency parking brake button, but with no effect

The driver confirms his attempt to use the emergency parking brake function as backed by the data. The above recall would have you believe Mr Zhan has his foot on the accelerator at 100%, trying to use regenerative braking, while also applying the ebrake.

Could it be that there is a strategy to distract people away from looking at the basic data?
Is all this an exercise to create more and more forum verbiage to drown out any serious discussion of evidence?
