Broadcom was developing this current version of CPO at least 3 years ago and its previous switch products based on silicon photonics.

Poet has only recently got optical engine products into production in the last year.

Same with the external laser products. Broadcom has a solution now.

Broadcom will need to see the financial impact on their costs by outsourcing any product poet makes vs keeping the work in Broadcoms factories.

Can Poet win the business from the big OEMs that make their own components?Anything is possible.

I’ve said it before, Broadcom is well aware of Poets capabilities because Broadcom is co designing the Celestial AI photonic fabric.

They need to know how Poets light source will drive the Orion Accelerator chip (s).
We know Broadcom supplies Poet with CW lasers in the lightbar solutions.

It’s the same with lumentum. They have a relationship with Poet with the DML’s but lumentum make their own external light sources they supply Ayar Labs.

Poet has to win the business. 75% cost reduction vs competition designs should turn heads. Ajmo
