I suspect they think that human ingenuity will be able to solve this EMI issue or that they have to try. I believe even if they manage to temporarily solve it, the continued weakening of earths geomagnetic field will cause such changes new more complex problems will arise. There is no order out of the chaos coming. Only adaptation.
It sort of feels like they are setting up AI as a potential scapegoat for some of the technological problems we will be experiencing.
