I'll give fuagf an easy start to his 'board day' by answering on his behalf. False equivalence implies that there is such a thing as equivalence. Also both are qualities that you know when you see them, based upon reason and information and sometimes just the gut response 'wait a minute, that doesn't sound right'.........based upon reason and info.

You'll note that when I and others go off on B4 we do it by demolishing his false equivalence with factual examples as to why there is not equivalence between the two Parties based upon examples of what they've done or not done. And of course we're still waiting for the 'done good' examples for the GOP.

I don't have any evidence that there are good and bad detention centers so I'll say that both govts are culpable for an execrable system. Similarly I can't defend the 'Solid South' of the Dem Party of de jure segregation, the Klan, lynching's and pre-Civil Rights Bills.

They fled the party en masse with the passage of those Bills and the courting of their new GOP membership through the Southern Strategy, since apologized for by a GOP party chairman but still de facto when people such as Trump liken white supremacists to 'fine people'.

In a similar vein the GOP is no longer the Party of Lincoln and one votes for a party based upon what it is now.

Do you see a false equivalence between the two govts - conservative and liberal that oversaw the detention centers over their many years?
