Yes, I agree there is a great deal of difference in shorting and illegal forms of naked shorting. I get DBMM discussion is about illegal shorting.
Illegal naked shorting is not without cost. It is far less expensive to steal shares in the OTC than shorting them legally, however. My confusion was why bash Clay's video for being dead nuts accurate. I understand he was speaking of shorting penny stock, not criminal practices of shorting, like in some of these tickers that are running. So why not simply point that out and move on was my question. I know Clay, and he is extremely honest and professional. I short all the time depending on market conditions, and he does as well.
