The costs of the university are compensated. The faculty get the same salary they would get regardless. Research is not as you suggest. The university wants the research, and gets yes, the SOC treatment paid for, by the sponsor, but the patient has insurance and they would probably get that and more if their insurance paid. Also these are all top doctors at top institutions. Lying for pennies would be self-destructive and stupid since their brands are far more valuable than having their patients receive free care, and seeing their hospital get the same money it would get anyway and they their same salary regardless.

This is a ridiculous argument that they were paid to lie because they participated in a study. Very much not consistent with with the facts here.

There are “trials” that are barely trials at no name clinics where no research is done and the company maybe us not really legit. The participation of top universities both in the trial and the authorship of the top ranked JAMA, peer reviewed article speaks volumes to neutralizing the claims you have made.
