Using your example the fact that a futility be found in error but then the error corrected by regulators and why the error took place, how the error was recognized and how the process of fixing it went would be information that is useful to future researchers.

the info would be useful to for future researchers, but not appropriate to put into the journal article and would might just aggravate them if it paints the FDA in a bad light. There are all kinds of information that might be useful to future researchers that is not in the article on how the trial was set up and why. For example why did the choose to run it in multiple countries.
I would recommend getting DCVAX approved and they sharing the info.
