..what I do know is that someone was able to control 2 million July option shares at deflated prices.

The massive +50% move was classic short squeeze behavior. Question is, why short to that degree, to what end? My answer is that we all just witnessed a deliberate yet legal action to reduce the share price in order to acquire cheap shares via options.
