Re your question about businesses owned, I only count the successful ones or the ones initiated from good judgement AND you know what Will Rogers says about good judgement:
“Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.”
So that being said, I built and sold 3 successful businesses in the energy and natural resource exploration and development business, 2 O&G companies and 1 "Hard Rock mining company!! For me, exploration for natural resources is the most exciting business imaginable!!! AND it all started when my grandfather took me underground at a Homestake Mining Company's silver mining operation at the start of the morning shift, when the miners ride the train cars to the end of the drift/tunnel to shovel/muck out the dirt and rock from the previous days blasting. We waited for the miners to scrape back the dirt/rock from the "end face" of the tunnel wall and he picked me up and walked up to the wall and put me down on the floor and said," Do you realize that you are the first person in the entire world to ever stand on that square foot of earth??" And it's all history from there!!!
