Thank you to Jessica Johnson, Community Outreach and Government Relations Manager at Talon Metals Corp. for joining Better In Our Back Yard's Ryan Sistad to discuss Talon's proposed Battery Minerals Processing Facility in Western North Dakota.

In the interview, Jessica gives insight on why Talon made the decision to build the facility outside of Minnesota, how they ended up choosing Western North Dakota as an ideal location, and what the community feedback has been since their announcement in October.

For reference, the U.S. Department of Energy announced a $114 Million dollar grant for Talon Metals to build a battery minerals processing facility just nearby Mercer County, ND earlier this fall.

The $114 million dollar grant is apart of the Biden administration's announcement of awarding $2.8 billion in grants across 12 states and 20 manufacturing/processing companies in an effort to boost U.S. production of electric vehicle batteries and the minerals used to make them possible.
