you are correct that Arther Laffers "supply side economics" never worked... it was a field of dreams scenario where "if you build the industries by giving a tax break, the consumers will spend....problem was when they gave tax breaks to businesses, they kept the money and the wealth of the rich exploded...consumers SPEND MONEY, and the already rich, SAVE MONEY....people can't consume if they don't have spendable money...actually, the rich merchants benefit from welfare...when Pedro gets a welfare check, he spends it into the economy for sustenance.... who gets the welfare money?... the rich merchants...
