I don't see how a live presentation in a closed forum at CTAD helps at all with the idea that additional context/explanation is needed to explain mediocre results. The vast majority of investors will not be present at CTAD to receive this additional context/explanation. If the concern is about how the market will react and that additional context/explanation is needed, then that could've been done with a webcast that includes the investing community, or during the ER call on Monday. Instead, almost all of the investment community will now receive these results through PR only, just like that would have if they were PR'd last week.
