There have been other examples of mutual cooperation.

Icahn was an activist investor and AMLN’s 3rd largest shareholder when his AMLN BOD nominee, Dr. Alexander Denner, was elected to the AMLN BOD. The company was soon auctioned off at a winning bid near double the share price of $15.90, a 52-week high.
