I recall back in the 60's at the Museum of Science and Industry
in Chi-Town
they had an AT&T display which said we would have phones
with screens we would see the other person on....

One thing about rotary phones on your land line
they still come in crystal clear
I cut the ringer out of one and put it by the bed.....
