google maps has all those features. my introduction to gps was in late 80's early 90's. I had an opportunity to buy a military grade backpack version (garman) that weighed 30 lbs, and so only one person had to traverse a plot of timber and then make an accurate map, as opposed to using two or three people to measure acreage, which involved a lot of machete work to survey. At the time, the signal was scrambled (pre-gulf war) so one had to take the data and do differential corrections the next day when the code was released. It prevented anyone from using gps for military attack purposes, but now it is ubiquitous. The machine cost $27,000 (not my own money was used) and is now almost an afterthought on every cell phone out there.
