An outside source put together the ECAs using the methodology they did because propensity score matching was not feasible. There is no way for anyone to know if one scoring system or the other would turn out more or less in favor of this difference in methodology with the L data because of this.
You are creating an assumption by perspective that there is a known favorable difference for the method utilized by the independent composer and that is simply not true or provable. This is precisely why (avoidance of bias) an independent party was chosen to create the composition of the ECAs. In other words, the MAIC method is NOT A PROBLEM except for those who might want to try to insist there is one by an unsubstantiated challenge against it’s use similar to the lawsuits made famous by Dewey, Cheatum and Howe ; ).
