A bad scenario for shareholders would be a run up based on speculation followed by another let down, like NYAS 2022 or SNO 2020.
It would be ironic if many, who failed to trade the stock and ended up HODLing and supporting the company only to get sold out, finally try to take advantage of a rise on speculation by selling (if only to have a larger position with a lower cost-basis later) only to find out that this time the news finally did drop.
The good news is that you have provided some insight which could help shareholders discern whether or not SNO 2022 is likely to be a dud (from an investor standpoint at least) and to be on the right side of selling into speculation and then buying back after the disappointing news or if the company really is backing it, then buying a bit more with confidence and holding what they hold.
To be clear, if your insight is wrong, it's wrong and that's on anyone who uses it.
