3M appears to be much less concerned about PFAS liability compared to the earplug liability. That's why they didn't attempt a fence-ringing maneuver for PFAS. My guess is that the cumulative PFAS liability will end up being no more than low-single-digit billions of dollars in net present value.

3M continues to make certain PFAS compounds because they are an essential feedstock for several high-tech industries.
