PFS is simply a surrogate for overall survival so that trials don’t need to run forever in order to get actual OS numbers. In other words, it’s a prediction of OS. BUT it’s meaningless when you have ACTUAL overall survival numbers because you extended the length of the trial. We also now know PFS is a very bad predictor in immunotherapy because of pseudo progression.
