No. What's been happening is this behind-the-scenes:

Most perple with conversion rights had been buying as many shares as they had been selling and pocketing the difference in the strike price to the market price as profit.

This is a very common practice in Canada if people really like a company (like they do Commerce) and want to maintain their same share position in the company.

Making money in stocks is tough to do. Some stocks are great trading vehicles. But even trading stocks can become buy and holds as the company begins to really achieve the goals that management is seeking. Buyouts or producers reflect that success.
