I think Catholicism of the top law body in any country would only be one factor in consideration of the whys for any marked change in any laws. Your thought to relate it to abortion law changes in other countries is a fair thought, just In the U.S. the change should be noted simply because the shift from one Catholic in nine to six in nine must represent in itself a huge shift toward conservatism in the general nature of the court. Neither the political leanings nor the religiosity of the judges are supposed to influence their interpretation of the law, still in this particular case it certainly does seem to have been of some significance simply because of the change of the law which has occurred. It's certainly good to see abortion laws being eased in many of those heavily Catholic countries. It shows women in those countries have made gains rather than the loses they have experienced in the U.S.

Your mention of - A Synagogue in Florida is suing the state over its abortion law, arguing it violates the religious freedom of Jewish people

"The act prohibits Jewish women from practicing their faith free of government intrusion and this violates their privacy rights and religious freedom," the lawsuit said, adding: "Forcing parenthood upon women against their will harms women, their families, our society, and the religious freedom of those who do not share the views reflected in the act." https://www.businessinsider.com/synagogue-sues-florida-abortion-law-violates-jewish-faith-2022-6

is a good one. For mine the parenthood point there makes much more sense than the misguided personhood position of the Christian anti-abortion mob. Much more. Thanks. On that score no one yet has disputed yet the main point made in this one

Making Abortion Murder
"How I Lost Faith in the “Pro-Life” Movement .. bits ..
Without Birth Control: 6 zygotes will “die”
With Birth Control: 2 zygotes will “die”
"
Overturning Roe is the first step. But the anti-abortion movement has its sights set far beyond.

Good point "If it plays out, we'll see exactly to whom religious freedom applies." of yours too.

This was a good Obama move - The Aftermath of Burwell v. Hobby Lobby
The Obama administration quickly swept in to close the loophole that SCOTUS created in the Hobby Lobby birth control case. In response to the decision, the Obama administration extended the birth control accommodation that was originally provided only to religiously affiliated nonprofits. In particular, the accommodation was extended to closely held for-profit entities — such as Hobby Lobby. It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
