No offense, but I see this claim from time to time, even the claim that she’s written ALL the patent laws for the E.U. So I just want to use your post to weigh in.

You missed that she helped draft the patent laws for the European Union. You

LP might as well claim that she invented the Chinese Buffet, it’s such a ridiculously funny claim. European patent law under various nations — which was the foundation for EU patent law drafted in 1963 — predates American patent laws by hundreds of years. And a freshly minted U.S. gov’t lawyer is not even writing one single patent law for the EU, which has an army of its own highly skilled multi-lingual lawyers from it member countries.

It’s certainly possible that American gov’t lawyers offer guidance, especially when there might be conflicts or concerns between EU and US patent law.

The reason I know LP didn’t event the Chines Buffet is because I know a person that came from the family that did. And I believe him!
